So what is this Classic Halo Universe?
At some point, I’ll write a whole freaking post about the entire lengthy, messy history that is my experience with Halo and fan fiction. But in short, it is this: I started writing fan fiction 15 years ago, and one of the very first things I began writing was a story called Through the Eyes of Another. The protagonist was a Marine named Alex Steele, trying to survive the insanity of Halo. This pretty much sent me rocketing down the path of writing Halo fan fiction for, so far, basically the rest of my life. I had a ton of ideas, some I thought were really cool, some were pretty much garbage, some I never got a chance to write.
This shared universe is basically the culmination of all that time, and all those ideas. It’s something I’ll be working on for years. I wouldn’t be surprised if I hit 40 and am still working on it. Honestly, the thing that’s different about my Halo universe, versus for example my Half-Life or my DOOM series, is that I want those to end. I’m sure that eventually I’ll run out of ideas for Halo fan fiction, but I could see this universe expanding and continuing for a very long time. I do have a sort of ultimate endgame for this universe, but it’s very far off and a lot of stuff could crop up between now and then.
I’ll be adding in things like a timeline, and some character bios, because I like stuff like that. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask, I’ll answer them as best I can.
I really hope you enjoy this.
