Welcome to The DOOM Chronicles, one of my bigger projects. Like with most games I write huge, lengthy series for, I have a lot of history with DOOM. I’ve played and beaten almost all of the main entries more than once. One of my first ever fan fictions was for DOOM ][. I tried novelizing the original DOOM Trilogy at one point.

What you see here is my attempt to, at long last, get all the DOOM out of my system. I keep wanting to write more DOOM fan fiction. So what we have here is one enormous, gigantic novelization of all things DOOM. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean that every single last little bit of DOOM lore or canon is going to end up here. I’m using the original two games from the ‘90s as the basis and going from there. The other games will play varying roles in shaping how the story goes.

This series is broken up into Episodes, just like the originals. For the sake of ease, I’m going to also break up those here, with links leading to where the Episode begins in the story.

[ON HITAUS]

A full novelization of the DOOM universe.

The year is 2145.

The Union Aerospace Corporation is the largest company in human history. It deals in everything from weapons technology to medicine to space travel. It is worth trillions and has remote research outposts all over the solar system.

But the UAC is about to open a portal to another dimension, a hellish wasteland that is home to pure evil. And once they open that door, they won’t be able to close it, and all of mankind will have to pay the price for their hubris…

Corporal Adam Watts is a man trying to make the best of a bad situation. After being exiled to Mars for having an affair with a General's daughter, he's been doing whatever he can get noticed and rise back through the ranks.

So far, he's done well for himself. He's been promoted three times and transferred from Mars City to Phobos Base, which resides on one of Mars' two moons. Things are more serious on Phobos Base and the UAC's closely guarded secrets are all hidden away up here.

After several months of wondering just what exactly is hidden in the mysterious 'Phobos Anomaly', Corporal Watts suddenly finds himself hand-picked to become part of a secret task force. What will he be doing? No one will tell him.

EPISODE ONE: Knee-Deep in the Dead

Jack Ward has just been demoted and exiled to one of the most boring, miserable places in the entire solar system: Mars City. The UAC needs soldiers and the United Marine Corps is more than willing to send its unwanted rejects and failures to play rent-a-cop all over the solar system. Jack isn't sure he has anything left to live for as he's dumped on Mars.

But as he settles in and gets to know his new fellow Space Marines, strange things begin happening. Men whisper rumors in dark corners, rumors of gruesome and terrifying experiments done up on Mars' two moons: Phobos and Deimos. Rumors of psychosis, of massacres, of otherworldly monsters.

At first, Jack puts off these rumors as something cooked up by a bunch of rookies with too much time and imagination. But then it happens: a distress call comes from Phobos. Something is waiting for Private Jack Ward and his fellow Space Marines up there, some beyond blood, beyond horror, beyond sanity...

EPISODE TWO: The Shores of Hell

Staff Sergeant Kyra Morgan is in a pretty bad spot, one that she thought couldn't possibly get any worse. After being forced to nearly flush a long military career down the drain and dealing with the stress of a chaotic Earth that is slowly destroying itself thanks to resource wars, she was actually looking forward to the assignments she'd been forced into.

After reluctantly signing on with the Union Aerospace Corporation, she agrees to take a string of crap jobs providing security for deep space research missions along the peripheral of the solar system.

Unfortunately for her, Kyra has no idea what horrors await her in the dead depths of space...

EPISODE THREE: Hell on Earth

Jack and Jennifer were shipped to Mars City and the UAC as a punishment for their supposed sins, meant to rot away up there, going out of their minds with boredom. Instead, they were there when Hell was unleashed by the UAC scientists. Murdering their way across Phobos, Deimos, and Hell itself, they managed to do the impossible and survive the chaotic nightmarish reality that the demons brought with them...

Kyra fought harder than she ever had in her entire life across the moons of Jupiter and through that awful other place infested with demons and worse things. Never in her long, illustrious career as a Marine had she been put to the test more than when she woke up alone on the surface of Europa and was then forced to fight her way through a legion of Hell's finest. But she did it. She came out the other side, was picked up by Jack and Jennifer, and all just in time to learn the most horrifying revelation of them of all...

The demons have already come to Earth.

Whole countries burn. Governments have fallen. Billions are dead. As the demon armies marched on Earth, it spelled Doomsday for the human race. Or it will, if they don't act fast to save themselves. And Jack, Jennifer, and Kyra are going to fight like hell to ensure that this isn't lights out for all of humanity...
